Leesland Parkfest 2015 – This is a local festival in the park I live right next to, there’s live music, Gosport’s Big Noise Samba Band, a few rides, bouncy castle, face painting, bar, ice cream van and charity, craft and small car boot type stalls. I’ve been going as a punter for quite a few years, having also grown up just around the corner from the park. The park has got a great play park, an allotment, a big skate park, a hard court, a community orchard, a big large open field and lots of paths through more of a wild end of the park great for blackberry picking. Originally the whole park was allotments and when I was a child the whole area was a overgrown waste land that we used to love playing in with some rickety sheds this knocking around. One of the great things about this park is that its way from a lot of roads, the only roads going near it our dead end roads or a road into a dead-end industrial estate therefore it’s like a secret garden that many people never really know that its there. The outside of the park is covered by cycle track and footpaths like Daisy lane. Because the park was a old allotment there is a lot of things to go foraging for like, plums, blackberries, apples, raspberries and blackcurrants.
